Year 2: 2019-2020 Autumn 1

To launch this topic on Exploring Materials, the children took part in a scavenger hunt to find different materials in and around the school grounds. The children enjoyed taking pictures using iPads to link with their current computing topic of We Are Photographers. Once back in class, the pictures were printed out and the children discussed what they noticed with a focus on identifying the properties of each material. In subsequent computing lessons, the children are going to review the photographs taken and discuss how they could be improved, focusing on angles and editing.
