The National Curriculum 2014 aims to ensure all children become fluent across the domains of mathematics in order to develop a conceptual understanding, reason mathematically following a line of enquiry with justification and solve problems in a variety of ways.

We currently follow and adapt the Mathematics Enhancement Program (MEP) from Reception to Year 6. Based on the Hungarian method for teaching Mathematics, with a focus on interactive learning, the MEP was developed by the Centre for Innovation in Mathematics Teaching. The program allows children to practise key skills whilst applying them to conceptual problems and making links between domains. We encourage children to use a range of strategies, working cooperatively, collaboratively and independently, to become confident and successful mathematicians, able to apply their knowledge and understanding to the wider curriculum and everyday scenarios.
