SUMMARY:Social Media and Anti-Bullying Sessions for Years 3\, 4\, 5 & 6 with our PCSOs
DESCRIPTION:On Monday 03/11/25\, our Year 3\, Year 4\, Year 5 and 6 students with be taking part in special sessions with our PCSOs focused on social media awareness and anti-bullying. \nIn today’s digital age\, understanding the impacts of social media on young people has become increasingly essential. \nThese sessions will be conducted by the local Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs)\, who will share their expertise on safe online practices\, the potential risks associated with social media\, and how to promote kindness and respect in both virtual and real-life interactions. \nThe sessions aim to empower our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complexities of modern communication responsibly. \nAdditionally\, these workshops provide an excellent opportunity for students to discuss bullying\, its various forms\, and the importance of standing together against it. Our intention is to foster an inclusive and supportive environment\, where every child feels valued. \nWe believe that parental involvement is crucial in reinforcing these themes at home. It is advisable to have open conversations with your child about their online activities and to encourage them to share their experiences and feelings regarding their interactions with peers. SUMMARY:Help Your Child Thrive Parent and Carer Programme
DESCRIPTION:The ‘Help Your Child Thrive’ programme is coming to Barlows Primary School from Monday 3rd November to help you to support your child with their learning and development at home. This course runs every Monday morning in school for 5 sessions just after you drop your child off at the start of the school day. \nThe course gives you an insight into what your child will be learning in Reception and KS1. Each week you’ll receive lots of practical tips and ideas as to how to help your child develop skills in communication and language\, personal\, social and emotional wellbeing\, physical development\, literacy and maths. You will be given a booklet full of resources and ideas for fun games to play with your child at home which will help them to thrive in school. The course is also a good chance to meet other parents and get to know a bit more about school. \nSessions will run from 9:30am – 11:30am on the following dates: \nMonday 03/11/25 \nMonday 10/11/25 \nMonday 17/11/25 \nMonday 24/11/25 \nMonday 02/12/25 \nPlaces are limited so please keep an eye out on Arbor for sign up details.
