DESCRIPTION:As part of their personal development education\, we are pleased to announce that Year 5 and 6 pupils will be attending an online career conversation on Thursday 15/01/26. \nPupils will meet Simon Biltcliffe\, founder of Webmart and a pioneering entrepreneur known for building a purposeled business\, championing creativity\, values-driven leadership and doing business differently\, and Emma Armitage\, managing director at Excel Water and an innovative leader driving growth\, problem-solving and sustainability in the utilities sector\, showing how ideas\, resilience and teamwork power successful businesses. Together\, Simon and Emma will explore the skills and qualities behind entrepreneurship — from creativity and confidence to adaptability\, collaboration and perseverance — helping pupils see how different strengths can lead to exciting futures. \nThe primary objective of this session is to expose our students to various career pathways and to help them understand the importance of setting goals and aspirations for their future. \nThe online session\, which is being hosted by Positive Futures as part of our Positive Futures Careers Aspiration Programme\, will engage students in discussions about the skills and attributes needed in today’s job market. \nThis initiative is designed to inspire and empower our students as they begin to consider their futures beyond primary education. SUMMARY:CUSP ART Festival
DESCRIPTION:Between 26th-30th January 2026\, our pupils will be taking part in a week long Art festival as part of our CUSP curriculum. The festival will further enhance the knowledge and skills our pupils have developed in our Art and Design curriculum through further exploration of key artists and their impact of the world around us. Pupils will become ‘a little more expert’ in Art and Design as they revisit skills previously taught and apply them to new\, creative contexts. \nThe theme for this year’s event is “Art\, Technology and the World Around Us”. There will be a range of events on offer to support pupils in developing their knowledge and skills in Art & Design. DESCRIPTION:Year 4 will have the opportunity to learn all about Boccia in our intra school tournament led by Mr Mattocks. Boccia is a Paralympic sport that involves control and accuracy as players propel coloured balls to get closet to a target ball (the jack). The children will work in teams to compete against their peers in heats which will culminate in our first ever Barlows Boccia finals!

The children will work in teams to compete against their peers in heats which will culminate in our first ever Barlows Boccia finals!

DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome our partners at the LFC Foundation into schools to deliver an important anti discrimination workshop for our Year 3 pupils on Monday 02/02/26. \nDuring the workshop the children will learn to identify what discrimination is and what it may look like. The children will also gain an understanding of how we can tackle and prevent discrimination happening both in school and outside of school.
