DESCRIPTION:Positive Footprints Career Conversation \nYear 5 and 6 \n19/05/25 \nOn Monday 19/05/25\, as part of their personal \ndevelopment education\, we are pleased to announce \nthat Year 5 and 6 pupils will be attending an online \ncareer conversation with Rachael Taylor\, an account \nmanager. Rachael works for No Isolation who provide \nAV1 robots to schools – a robot will join the children on \nthe call as Rachael discusses how it works. The primary \nobjective of this session is to expose our students to \nvarious career pathways and to help them understand \nthe importance of setting goals and aspirations for their \nfuture. \nThe online session\, which is being hosted by Positive \nFutures as part of our Positive Futures Careers \nAspiration Programme\, will engage students in \ndiscussions about the skills and attributes needed in \ntoday’s job market. This initiative is designed to inspire \nand empower our students as they begin to consider \ntheir futures beyond primary education. DESCRIPTION:Children’s University Masterclass \nExploring Space with a Robotic Telescope \nYear 6 \n29/04/2025 \nWe are thrilled to announce that our Year 6 pupils \nwill be participating in a unique online session \nhosted from the Fawkes Telescope South in \nAustralia. \nThis incredible opportunity allows our young \nastronomers to dial in and explore the wonders of \ndistant galaxies. For an exhilarating 30 minutes\, \nthey will take control of the remarkable 2-metre \nwide telescope\, capturing stunning real-time \nphotographs of the universe. As the telescope \ngazes into the cosmos\, pupils will have the chance \nto engage with expert astronomers\, asking \nquestions and deepening their cosmic knowledge. \nIt’s an adventure not to be missed!

This is a \nfantastic chance for our children to develop their \nGeography skills while enjoying the great outdoors. \nThe trip will kick off with an indoor session where the \nchildren will compare maps and aerial photos of the \nlocal area. They’ll have the chance to create their \nown simple maps\, helping them grasp the concept of \na ‘Bird’s Eye view’. After their indoor activities\, we’ll \nhead outside to explore! In the open air\, the children \nwill draw their own maps and learn about the eight \npoints of a compass\, a vital skill for any budding \nexplorer.
