SUMMARY:Year 5 and 6 - Bikeability
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to offer our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils\, who have not yet completed the course previously\, an opportunity to complete Level 1 and Level 2 Bikeability training with BikeRight. The sessions take place on the Barlows site and in the local community with a focus on safe travel for pupils. \n  \nPupils should be able to ride unaided (without the support of stabilisers) to qualify for the sessions. Pupils are also required to have a roadworthy bicycle and helmet to use for the sessions. \n  \nIf you believe your child would benefit from these sessions and can ride unaided but does not have a bicycle or a helmet\, please contact the school office to see how we can support participation with a small number of bicycles and helmets available to borrow from BikeRight. \n  \nFurther information is available via Arbor. Please note that this is now an ‘Opt Out’ opportunity – if you do not wish for your child to take part\, please contact the school office to notify the school.

DESCRIPTION:In September\, our Year 5 pupils will be visiting the Royal Court Theatre\, Liverpool\, where they will gain invaluable insights into the behind-the-scenes world of theatre production. The children will take part in the ‘Backstage Class’ workshop\, providing access to areas typically unseen by the public. \nDuring the visit\, students will have the unique opportunity to meet various professionals from the theatre industry\, including stagehands\, sound engineers\, and set designers\, who will share their expertise and experiences. Children will also get the chance to stand on stage at the famous theatre to envision the life of a performer followed by a live Q&A session with industry professionals. \nFurther details will follow via Arbor from the class teacher.

DESCRIPTION:In September\, our Year 4 pupils will be visiting the Museum of Liverpool to further develop their understanding on their Geography topic – Rivers. \nIn the River Mersey: Gateway to the World workshop\, students will discover how Liverpool became one of the world’s great ports and how this shaped the city of today. Children will explore the trade goods wall to identify examples of imports and exports to and from Liverpool. They will explore the significance of the geographical location of our city and the River Mersey as well as use their locational knowledge to identify the source locations of the traded goods. \nFurther information will follow via Arbor from the class teachers.
