As part of their topic on Airports and Holidays, Nursery had a special parent visitor. Cheryl works for Virgin Airlines and came into school dressed in her uniform to share with children the types of skills and knowledge she uses as part of her job. This wonderful visit helped children to:
- To support the children to understand the role of an air hostess and how an airport functions.
- To engage the children in role play opportunities to promote imagination around check in procedures.
- To develop writing opportunities when creating boarding passes and passports.
- To show the children safety procedures and how to remain safe when boarding the aircraft.
- To enhance specific vocabulary linked to the topic focus and develop language opportunities.
- To support children to use measuring equipment to weigh suitcases and size order.
