Children’s University is an innovative initiative designed to inspire and engage children through a wide array of extracurricular learning opportunities. Children’s University aims to foster a love for learning beyond the traditional school curriculum. It empowers children to explore various subjects, develop new skills, and participate in unique experiences that extend their knowledge and understanding of the world around them.

The programme encourages children to partake in a diverse range of activities both inside and outside of the classroom, including workshops, museum visits, and sports clubs. Each activity undertaken is awarded a certain amount of ‘learning credits’, which children can collect as they progress on their learning journey. This structured approach not only acknowledges their efforts but also instils a sense of achievement and motivation.

Children’s University also collaborates with local institutions, such as museums, universities, and libraries, to provide enriching experiences that contribute to the children’s personal and intellectual growth. By participating in these activities, children gain valuable skills, enhance their academic knowledge, and develop key social abilities, such as teamwork and communication.

At Barlows Primary School, we offer a range of free Children’s University Clubs for pupils.
