At Barlows Primary School, we are committed to providing students with nutritionally balanced meals that enhance their overall health and well-being. We are pleased to partner with Chartwells, a reputable catering company renowned for its dedication to quality food service in educational institutions. Chartwells ensures that all meals served to our students meet the nutritional standards, promoting healthy eating habits that will benefit them for life.
Their menu is designed to cater to a variety of tastes and dietary needs, incorporating a wide range of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. This diverse selection not only supports our students’ physical development but also encourages them to explore new flavours and foster a love for wholesome food.
We understand that dietary requirements may vary among individual students. If your child has any allergies or specific dietary needs, we strongly encourage you to speak with our Medical Welfare Assistant, Mrs Gardner. This member of our team is well-equipped to guide you through the necessary procedures and will provide you with the correct forms required for dietary requirements in advance. We aim to ensure that every child in our care receives meals that are both safe and enjoyable.
School Meal Charges
The current charge for school meals is set at £3.13 per pupil per day as of September 2024.
Please note, as we are a PFI school, this is set by the contract not the school.
Free School Meals – There is no charge for pupils in receipt of Free School Meals or Universal Free School Meals.
